iPhone 7: User Review

iPhone 7

INTRODUCTION

Every time Apple launches a new product (in general) we get all excited because it comes with new things that you think they didn’t exist. For this review, I would tell you some stories with this new device I am recently using. The new iPhone 7 have been around for a while. I was using the iPhone 6 plus and decide to change it for the Apple iPhone 7. Why? The iPhone 6 plus was the first Apple phone I bought, but I have always used apple products like the iPod classic, iPod Touch, MacBook’s and others. The iPhone 6 plus really surprised me, I was very happy with it, but life comes with changes so I change my phone to the newest Apple model.

BATTERY LIFE & CHARGING

I love to take photos with my phone, which makes the battery life shorter. With my iPhone 6 plus, I was always carrying around an external battery, which makes my backpack heavier. Also, I always take with me my iPhone charger so that it would never die. With the iPhone 7, I don’t have to carry all this. The battery last more hours. Now I charge my phone overnight and it would last a full day. I mostly use Twitter, Instagram, Messenger, and Spotify. Also, I take some pictures of things that I like. During classes, I still charge it, but that’s because I am a battery freak and don’t want my phone to die.

PERFORMANCE & DESIGN

The design’s the same which hasn’t cause any impression on me. Is a neutral thing because I like the design and I am used to it. After having the iPhone6 6 plus for a long time I really prefer the normal size. It hurts my hand less and fit in most of my pockets and small purses. The phone works perfectly even when you are using a lot of applications at the same time. I download a lot of photo editing apps because of my hobby of taking pictures. In the iPhone 6 plus, I would have to delete some because it would stop working.

STRENGTH & DURABILITY

Personally, I am a freak with taking care of my iPhone 7. My iPhone 6 plus screen broke two times and it was a nightmare. This time the first thing I do when I bought it was to put the glass screen protector and a nice protective case. I am a very clumsy person I fall very often and my personal things too. This is why my previous phone needed to be fixed more than once.

I have dropped my phone a few times and nothing happened. I have used in the pool a few times and it works perfectly. Once a friend of mine accidentally drop it on a really hard surface and there was not even a scratch. I thought with this drop and the previews one I will have problems with the function, but it stills works fine.

BEST FEATURES

I love the new camera, it’s better. I haven’t experience with the camera of the iPhone 6S but in comparison of the iPhone 6 plus is superior. Pictures taken in dark environments aren’t a problem now, you can take great ones with the new improved camera. For a heavy-handed like me, the water resistant makes my life easily.

First of all, I love to listen to music when I shower. Singing and dancing while soaping it’s like taking a break from life. I listened to music all day so normally I would take my iPhone to the bathroom and be really careful of not getting it wet or falling into the sink (which has happened). Now with all confidence, I take it with me knowing nothing could happen.

For me the home button it’s more comfortable than the previous one. At the begging it’s was weird but a few days past and I get used to it. I really like the way it feels it’s a strange but enjoyable touch. Another thing that impresses me is that is faster. Sometimes I saturated my phone with pictures, videos, editing apps and some games. This normally would make my iPhone 6 plus into a mental breakdown, but the new iPhone 7 functions well.

WORST FEATURES

I still don’t like the removal of the headphone jack. I lost or damage my headphones very easily. I know I can buy the iPhone de adapter but we all know apple product aren’t the cheapest and the adapter can get lost very quickly. It bugs me that if my headphones broke I will have to buy apple ones or the adapter, which isn’t nice.

There are no changes in the design I thought that being a new model something in the shape of the phone would change. As an iPhone user, it’s a bum that the iPhone 7 plus has better and double camera that the iPhone 7 it always has been about the size and not the features.

The software has made a few changes. The notification center it’s the same, which for me personally it’s horrible and annoying. You cannot delete all at once, you have to delete day by day which is a waste of time. Another thing is the Apple apps, they don’t make my life easier. I always put them apart, because I cannot delete them. With the new phone, I hope that Apple would reduce the apps that come with the phone to make all we hate them less.

OVERALL REVIEW

I have been using the iPhone 7 for about 3 months. Comparing to my previous iPhone I love it, buying the latest iPhone was worth the work and money. One of the things I thought it was great that the lowest memory in the phone is 32GB I bought the 128 GB which in previous years would have cost me a lot more.

I always have taken photos with an Apple device, first with the iPod 4th generation, then the iPhone 6 plus and now the iPhone 7. The photos a have taken for me were always good, but it is different with the iPhone 7. There is no big struggle with the dark places, with the iPhone 6 plus I would have to cancel the shot because of the darkness of the place. Another thing that makes me love my phones is the water resistant features.

Days at the pool are more remembered. I take photos and videos underwater with all my friends. There is no need of someone having an underproof camera because I have it in my purse. Besides the negative, it has, like the elimination of the audio input I am very happy with the mobile device Apple offered us. Hope you enjoy reading this review and know a little more about the Apple iPhone 7.

iPhone 7 : User Review

INTRODUCTION

As smartphones have taken over our lives the past few years, Apple has dominated the field with the iPhone. These phones don’t take pride on having the best specs or the latest technology, instead, what Apple sells to you it’s ‘The iPhone lifestyle’: high-quality pictures, friendly user interface, connectivity with all the other Apple devices/users, etc. Apple is an expert on building a brand that makes every person, regardless of their demographic, a target for their products. In the same fashion, the phone’s graphics are pretty minimalistic and easy to use but still good enough to make you believe you are getting the best product on the market.

BATTERY LIFE & CHARGING

Old folktales tell a story that if you ever have the fortune of spotting an iPhone user that was out in the world without their charger in their hand, you would have a lifetime of luck. As surprised as I was, I became that person after buying the iPhone 7. Now, I’m the type of person that is addicted to their phone. I have about 10 apps open at the same time, brightness at 100% and have the tendency to check on my Instagram likes every 10 minutes, and I still have 40% of battery by the afternoon. Upgrading from an old iPhone 5 that had to be charged every two hours to even try to function, I was mesmerized by the iPhone 7’s battery life. Coincidentally, iPhones always have great battery life when you buy them, but they slowly start burning off the battery pack as time passes by. In summary, I’ve had three months with this phone now and the battery is still working pretty good.

PERFORMANCE & DESIGN

By its definition, the iPhone is a very simple, user friendly phone. The only buttons this phone has is the volume control buttons, the lock button, and the pseudo-home button. As a result, it is extremely easy to turn the phone on and off, as well as performing the basic activities such as going to the home screen, controlling the volume, etc. Additionally, the phone is not too heavy nor too light. It’s heavy enough to make your brain realize you’re holding a phone, but it’s light enough for you to not drop it out of the sudden. Overall, I find the design to be very convenient: it’s small enough to fit in your pockets, buttons that are simple enough for anyone to operate, as well as a weight that makes the phone easy to bring anywhere with you.

STRENGTH & DURABILITY

Even if it looks (almost) exactly like its past generation, I personally love the design of the iPhone 7. The aluminum body projects simplicity and a solid foundation for the structure of the phone. However, this phone is also very well known for being extremely fragile. Every time an iPhone gets dropped to the floor you can hear a collective gasp of every person around — friend or foe — because you just know that person has been yet another victim of the slippery frame of the phone, and that there is a 99% chance that the screen is going to be cracked. Consequently, since having a cracked iPhone has become part of the iPhone lifestyle, screen repairs can come really expensive. Personally, I use a tough case that really protects my phone and a screen protector as well. Both of those accessories were relatively inexpensive and have protected my phone pretty good, it hasn’t cracked since I got it.

BEST FEATURES

Apple is a company that delivers new features that make you feel like you need their latest device, and the iPhone 7 is no exception to it. Firstly, they have added a new color to their collection: Jet Black. See, Jet Black is not just a color, it’s a way of showing people that you can afford a 128 GB phone but you’re still too cool to use the iPhone Plus, it’s the brand new Rose Gold and perfectly portrays Apple’s minimalistic aesthetic. Plus, it has a glossy finish. I personally own the silver model because I think it looks great with phone cases, but the Jet Black model is definitely astonishing and a good change that could lure people into upgrading their old phone. Furthermore, the home button is solid on the phone’s body, rather than it being an actual button. This change improves the waterproof functionality and it’s really not that much of a change. As a previous iPhone 6 and iPod Touch user, I’ve always had problems with the home button. Note that in the previous home button, the more that you used it, the more that it became loose on the phone, and even in some cases, it could fall off the device. The new home button being solid can prevent some of these damages and prepare people for what’s more to come on newer models. Last but not least, the camera still has that iPhone that no other phone can imitate. With only having 12 megapixels, it’s a pretty basic camera compared to the competition, but it takes pride on its simplicity. It doesn’t soften people’s faces, it doesn’t finish the picture with a glossy finish, it really doesn’t do a lot of those things many other phones do: but what makes it real, makes it Apple.

WORST FEATURES

apple-iphone-7-plus-review-lightning-2-1500x1000

Contrary to popular opinion, change is not always for the better. For instance, the headphone jack disappearing has made my life about a hundred times harder. I personally lose everything I get my hands on, especially headphones. About five years ago, I made the transition from regular earphones to big headphones because I lost about three earphones a week and headphones were practically impossible to lose. But I’m still human, and I can’t resist to the possibility of listening to music without looking like a failing, broke DJ that can only afford $20 headphones, so I do use earphones from time to time. So when the news broke out that the headphone jack disappeared, I didn’t realize all the implications that this meant. In my typical fashion, I lost the earbuds about a week or so after getting my phone, which was incredibly disappointing. Not only because they were Apple earbuds, but also because they are practically the only non-wireless earbuds that work with the iPhone without the necessity of an adapter, which takes me to the next worst feature: the adapter. I never leave that adapter out of sight, not one minute of the day, blink and you miss it. In conclusion, I’m sure that it was taken off for a really exciting reason or a new exciting feature yet to come, but it’s really just annoying and not practical for the everyday user.

OVERALL REVIEW

Overall, the iPhone 7 is an incredibly useful and friendly smartphone. It’s created by Apple which generates the target to be for absolutely everyone. This new generation hasn’t really revolutionized or drastically changed from its predecessor, but it still has some pretty exciting new updates such as the innovated home button, new colors, and the traditional camera. The headphone jack has been taken off this phone but what’s most likely going to happen is that all iPhones after this one repeat the same pattern. Overall, the Apple iPhone 7 is a mobile phone that is an accessible device for anybody because of its reliability, lasting technology, and aesthetic components.
