As travelers in a digital world, we have the amazing opportunity to share our travels with others. Through photography, we can share the world with people who aren't able to go out and see it on their own. We can inspire people to get out and expand their thinking. We can spread awareness of how the world operates and slowly chip away at the prejudice and ignorance that comes through staying in one place. But to do that, we need to be able to show these places to the people we influence. How do we show these places? By taking and sharing high quality photos.
Different Kinds of Lenses
Over the years, I've learned that taking good photos while traveling takes a few different kinds of lenses. I've been guilty of carrying around three cameras at a time – my wide angle point and shoot, my macro DSLR, and my basic iPhone. I just never know what I might find and what kind of lens I’ll need to capture it.
I've found some of the most amazing sites and photo spots just off the beaten path. Sometimes those places are beautifully photographed with one type of lens but, more often than not, there are multiple photo opportunities if I could just capture it with a different type of lens.
Capturing the Details
If I bring all my cameras I can capture the wide angle of the bamboo forest, the detail in the trees, and myself traveling amongst them. I can find a way to show what it's really like to be there – what it looks like and how it feels. But I can only do this if I have the right camera to document this. My cameras are like my audience's eyes and it's important that I have the right perspective.
Still, more often than I hope to be, I'm caught off guard at these places and moments and all I have with me is my phone. With my other cameras at home, I miss out on capturing all the beauty that the place has to offer. Don't get me wrong, these days we're lucky to have such amazing capabilities right on our smart phones. Without any modifications to the phone camera, we can take HD photos and videos, adjust lighting and colors, and bring people with us digitally on our travels. But what if we could modify it? What if we could make it better and we could do so with hardly anything extra to lug around?
With AOCHY's quality phone cameras, we can. With three different kinds of lenses built to fit in a phone case, our cameras can be high quality and lightweight. We can take pictures that transport our audience there and do so affordably and comfortably. They're easy to transport everywhere, so that you're never caught off guard. You can always be prepared to capture the feeling of the amazing destinations you find – right from your phone.
