My first personal experience with a projector was when my flatmate brought one home, a bulky projector made in 2016. It was really loud, clunky to use and expelled hot air. It did get the job done, but it wasn't very ergonomic and not what I expected from a modern projector.
In comes the Piqo. The Piqo came to life thanks to a successful Indiegogo campaign where it raised 7348% of its initial funding goal, pretty impressive I have to say. This is because the Piqo was designed to excel where your typical projector falters.
You can find out more about it below and after reading the article, you'll understand why the Piqo stands out and why it might be the next projector for you.
What makes the Piqo stand out?
The Piqo's size is one of its main selling points. It is compact enough to fit in a bag, a briefcase and even your pocket. This means you can take it anywhere you need to and have a cinema where ever you go. It can also be an alternative option to a television.
At 200 ANSI lumens, the Piqo's projection will be sharp, bright and clearer than projections by competitors products. This is fundamental for a portable projector as not every environment will be very dim or dark. The powerful display will provide a bright image everywhere.
The Piqo projects a high-quality 1080p image, up to 240in in size, bigger than most TVs available on the market today.
The Piqo also comes with Hi-Fi speakers designed and developed by the engineers at Harman Kardon & Bose. These speakers are small but powerful and provide excellent audio quality. Anyone who has played music through a Harman Kardon (or Bose) product can attest to the quality and power of their speakers.
The speakers are also handy as you can play music or any audio files you want through them, acting as a mini portable speaker.
One of the key features of the Piqo is its compatibility most devices on the market. You can cast movies, music, and games through it from a variety of devices and it is able to connect to Windows, iOs, Andriod and Mac systems. It also allows you to use most streaming services on it and is compatible with Netflix, Hulu, and Youtube.
Finally, we can talk about its powerful battery and storage. When playing audio files alone, the battery will last for a staggering 50 hours and will last 5 hours when playing videos. This battery life is more than twice what you'll find from competitors products.
It also has 16GB of built-in storage and allows you to download and store a variety of files and mobile apps too.
Who should go for the Piqo?
All the technology and work that goes into the Piqo is reflected in the price and it starts at $700 (or $325 if you purchase it through Indiegogo). You can argue that this price is worth it, considering the quality of the product and how it will perform compared to other products in the same price range.
You get a lot of features and functionality.
This product suits a variety of groups and people. People who live compactly, remotely and on the go will find it particularly useful. The product doesn't take up much space and has a generous battery life. This works perfectly if you can't find a place to charge it immediately, which will happen when you're traveling. Its versatility is also key and it can potentially replace your portable speaker too.
It also appeals to students, those sharing apartments and even parents with little kids. You can setup any room with the projector to watch your cartoons, series and play your video games. You're no longer limited if one space isn't available to use for that. Parents can keep their kids occupied whilst they are busy elsewhere with guests or even use it in the kitchen as they are cooking.
You no longer have to buy a bulky TV and worry about storage or space. You can get a projector which doubles as a portable speaker, and only pull it out when you need to.
