What is it?
iOS is an operating system that is only found in apple devices, an operating system is the software that enables you to run the hardware on your computer or phone. The utility interface that comes with the iOS is absolutely stunning. It offers a very easy to use user interface which makes your day to day work run smoothly. There has been a couple of these operating system series but iOS 10 is the latest. There we go let us focus on iOS 10 today.
When was it launched?
Apple unveiled this operating system on June this year and officially launched it on September just three months later. On the day of launch the CEO of the company dubbed it as the biggest release ever, it included updates on a series of apps used on the device. Just to name a few highlights messaging, Siri, photos and maps.
Why iOS 10 now?
After a period of time in beta testing, it seemed just the right time for the release of this operating system, however the changes made in this operating system would have been done a long time before according to software experts. Because the current phones running the latest android OS have some of these features.
What are its features?
Guess what Siri can now do more than we expected, thanks to apple which opened it up to third party developers who create their apps to support Siri. You can now tell Siri to send messages on Whats App and even call you a cab on Uber.
Messages have now been updated with new effects, but that you would find the coolest is that you can now use emoji’s as your main texts, it comes with an emoji predictive feature that lets you replace your words with appropriate emoji’s.
Remember all those junk apps on your iPhone than you don’t even use? They just fill up your home screen, I am talking about stock app and the rest. You are now able to delete these apps with iOS 10 and free up your home screen. However these apps are not completely trashed, therefore your storage does not change much. A less junked home screen is better though.
Messages again has been redefined and gets its own app store, this enables developers to come up with apps that can make GIF s, send stickers and even come up with payment options with subsequent orders.
The lock screen gets a new design and offers very easy access. With the 3D touch feature, information is offered directly and the camera is easily accessible.
The mail has become smarter and can now give you suggestions on which folder you want your messages moved. To enable this feature you must do it manually through the settings.
Another good feature is that whenever you get a voicemail message or missed call, you can now receive a transcription of what it was about. This really comes in handy especially when you are in class or meeting.
In the photos app a feature that analyses the location and times pictures were taken, comes with the iOS. The memories feature creates a slide show appropriately in conjunction with your camera roll.
You can also now find people easily in the camera roll because with a new update faces and locations can be detected efficiently, which makes it easier to organize your photos.
There has been a new design in the music app. You can now easily view the lyrics to a song while listening to it, how amazing is that?
All these are just some of the updates on iOS 10 you can find out more by searching iOS 10 features on the internet.
How can you access or update it?
First is first, you have to make a backup, this is highly recommended when updating your operating system.
Plug in your device into power and connect to the internet using Wi-Fi, after this is done Tap settings > general > software update
Tap download and install. In a case where a message appears asking you to temporarily delete some apps because it needs more storage space, just click continue because later the apps that were deleted will be reinstalled.
Tap update now then tap install. If you do not want to install it immediately you can always tap install later. At the time you decide you want to install it at night, make sure you plug it into power before you sleep, the iOS will update itself overnight.

The iOS 10 comes with an absolutely stunning design, and is absolutely a worth upgrade to apple fans. There is a recent upgrade on the same which is now iOS 10.1.1, the software update is relatively small at under 70MB, which indicates that it is a minor update with a few bug fixes.
