Over the years, Android OS has ruled the mobile market by sidelining the Symbian OS, Windows and the Cyanogen Operating Systems of mobile phones. One of the mobile manufacturers that could boast of their sales due to Android’s presence is, Samsung. The South Korean company, Samsung, got a huge break after the launch of their Note 2 mobile phone, at a price less than iPhone 4 during that time and since then it has produced some amazing phones that run on Android OS.
One such phone that has an amazing metallic finish and runs smoothly, even when loaded heavily with the apps is, Samsung Galaxy J7 Duos. I bought this phone at a reasonable price in January, 2016. One of my friends uses it, suggested the phone because of its nice functionality.
Let’s have a look over the features of Samsung Galaxy J7.
Battery Life and Charging
When I charged my mobile for the first time, it took two hours (approx.) to get fully charged. Once done, I could use my phone at a full potential for one whole day when I am using the internet, and when I’m not using the Data or Wifi, it could last for a couple of days.
Galaxy J7 Duos, comes with a removable Li-Ion battery, possessing a capacity of 3300 mAH. The battery could survive for approximately 96 hours (music time) and could drain after 23 hours (talk time). Also, it can last for a day or two while travelling, but still having a power bank is a plus, if you’re an internet freak. Although, the endurance time for Samsung J7 is 101 hours.
Design and Performance
With a sleek design to flaunt, Samsung Galaxy J7 has a metallic touch, which enhances its look and makes it a phone with strong body. It has a super AMOLED capacitive screen touch, with its size being 5.5 inch and the weight of 170 gms, which makes it a very handy phone and it has a display resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, with 16 M display colors.
The smoothly furnished corners and an excellent space use for front camera, flashlight and the back camera makes it a lucrative choice for normal purposes.
Although I’m not a gaming freak, but Galaxy J7 is a good choice for gaming as well. It consists of 2 GB RAM and comes up with an Octa Core 1.6 GHz processor. It runs on OS, Android Marshmallow 6, which provides regular updates for better compatibility and security issues.
Strength and Durability
The diamond cuts over the edges, adds to the beauty of the mobile and the metal frame adds to its strength. It’s been 15 months that I am using this mobile and since then I have dropped this mobile several times, by mistake, of course, and I am convinced to see no cracks on my phone yet. It is still efficient by its appearance and also, it works well in performance as well.
So, with my experience I can surely add that Samsung Galaxy J7 is highly durable.
It has an amazing performance in terms of processor speed and I don’t have to compromise on my other applications, while playing one particular app.
Memory: It has a MicroSD (16GB ROM) dedicated slot that allows memory, expandable up to 128 GB, which is way greater than any other mobiles present under the budget cap. I can store many movies, files, pdf, videos, music, etc. and it will still run smoothly with a lot of space left, to add new files.
Camera: The best feature of this mobile is its camera. It consists of a back camera, which is 13MP and the front camera of 5 MP. The back camera features an Auto-focus, Geo tagging, Flash, Face detection, Panorama, HDR functions and the front camera, which has an aperture f 1/9 , has an LED flash to make your selfie looks amazing even in low light or dark. It also has this feature called, pro selfie and wide selfie, which is a bonus.
One can record video with high quality that comes up with 1080p at that rate of 30 frames per second.
Additionally, it possesses features like, Wifi-direct, Bluetooth v4.1 and also, it is NFC enabled with GPS. It has Accelerometer and Proximity sensors enabled, with the inbuilt browser supporting HTML5.
This amazing phone comes up with many colors like Gold, White, Rose Gold, Black. Although, I have the gold handset, which looks astonishing and even with such an extensive use, it looks new. The voice quality is amazing and, is loud without the headphones. Also, it supports 4G VoLTE that helps in creating quality calls, as well as it is good with its 3G support. The Video calling looks fine with the front camera and its lighting.
With so many features around in a single handset, the price would be demanding, but since due to heavy competition in the mobile market, the price of Samsung Galaxy J7 has been high as compared to that of some new mobiles, which comes at a price cap of Rs. 12000.
Galaxy J7 is priced at Rs. 15000, it was Rs. 15,999 when I bought it, and now I think the price is reduced to a much competitive amount, so that many people, especially students like me can buy it.
All apart, there is nothing much worse about this phone and I would hit you a thumbs up if you seek suggestion for buying this mobile.
Before buying the phone, I was slightly confused about this model, because I was about to spend the whole of my pocket money to buy this INR 15000 model. But then once i bought it, I never ever had a regret for my decision and in fact I could have suggested my friends to buy this mobile.
Also, I never had to face issues like heating while charging or slowing down of processor due to extensive use. Although yes, excessive use of the internet could drain the battery very quickly, but then charging it at one go could make it fine.
All in all, Samsung J7 is a handy phone that helps me save my urgent notes, listen music when I’m bored or watch movies while travelling, capture moments that are heart throbbing and its better processor makes my phone, a multi tasking partner.
